Jacob Arabov has forfeited $2 million dollars in illegal proceeds, as a part of his plea agreement conviction for laundering the drug profits of a nationwide drug conspiracy network.
Arabov, known affectionately to Hip-Hop stars as “Jacob the Jeweler,” was sentenced to 2 ½ years in prison for lying to federal authorities about the ownership of $5 million worth of jewelry seized from Terry Flenory, co-head of the notorious Black Mafia Family that operated throughout the United States from 1990-2005.
Under law, drug forfeiture money appropriated by authorities can only be disbursed and used by law enforcement agencies.
Of the $2 million seized, $1.6 million was distributed to seven law enforcement agencies in and around Detroit, the Black Mafia Family’s original base of operations.
The Detroit, Groose Ile Township, Birmingham, and Livonia police departments received $267, 200, with the same amount going to the Livingston County Sheriff’s office.
The River Rouge Police Department received $198,800, while the Waterford Police Department retained $67,200.
The remaining $400,000 was kept by the federal government.
The Black Mafia Family was founded by the Flenory brothers Demetrius (“Meech”) and Terry (“Southwest P”) in the early 90s.
Their vast criminal empire drew extensive police attention when the group began publicly promoting themselves in Hip-Hop circles throughout Atlanta (Young Jeezy, Bleu DaVinci): throwing lavish parties, creating DVDs, and even erecting a prominent Billboard in the city.
In 2005, a series of drug raids and turns of key members into informants effectively the dismantled the drug trafficking organization.
Last year, both Flenory brothers were sentenced to 30 years in prison under CCE (Continuing Criminal Enterprise Law) classification.

I know this thread is old, and I honestly have no idea what you are saying, and I am speaking as one of the semite people you speak of (one who actually works for a living and goes to college, unlike the shrill of a man in this article)…
…but what? I really can’t emphasize that I really have no idea what you are talking about. You keep saying the same ideas over and over again, but they don’t seem to have any form of coherent argument or logic.
Anyway, to an old topic no one cares about!
First off, I feel no sympathy for either this person (whom I’ve heard far too many times…mostly because a close friend of mine is apparently his cousin and father he rarely sees works for him, and everyone in High School used to idolize this fraud of a man) nor for the people buying his overpriced jewelry.
The only people purchasing his wears are rich. It is not exploitation if it is out of free-will. Its just human stupidity. Like how world leaders in Africa purchase $1,000,000 cell phones that have less functionality than my LG Optimus S that cost me….$0. In the latter scenario, I feel incredible sympathy for those whom are under the rule of such terrible leaders, but that’s another argument.
Second, Hip-Hop suffers from the same thing that all popular music does nowadays: Autotune and American Idol (or X-factor, or whatever those crazy Brits come up with). The concept that skill and hard-work have no consequence when a device can automatically make you sound like some kind of mangled monkey, or that some television show can make you into an overnight success. The days where bands like Public Enemy actually put their heart and soul into their music are over. Talent is vastly under-appreciated.
People have to work to get anywhere. Nothing is handed down, and I resent people that get preferential treatment. I’ve never received any. I’ve been bullied all my life for various reasons (religion, naivety), and I don’t have any connections whatsoever. My mom is an immigrant, and my dad worked in a dead-end job.
As for your rant about us semite people…Being part of this “semite” race you speak of has brought me no special kinds of gifts. I had to leave public school for being beaten up every day because I accidentally had my hebrew after-school books drop from my bookbag (I was the “Jew Boy”…yay…). When applying to college, I got waitlisted and not accepted to a bunch of schools, despite my high GPA and supposedly advantageous (and entirely meaningless) half Hispanic ethnicity. I will likely be unemployed when I graduate this year like the rest of my peers.
So yeah….if you can find these special places that I’m supposed to go, please tell me. I am actually quite poor and in a lot of debt. 🙁
