More Details Emerge at Austin, Texas Nightclub Shooting

By now many of y’all have read or heard about the tragic shootings that took place early Friday morning in front of Spiro‘s nightclub in Austin, Tx right off 6th street. For those who are just getting caught up to speed, the initial stories we heard was a rap group from La Grange Texas, called the LG Allstarz were scheduled to perform at the popular night spot. The group was supposedly asked the promoters if they could end a performance early so they could perform. Now in the initial news accounts we were told an argument ensued and the group was removed from the club. Two of the members Big Hutch and Lil Hutch returned as the club was closing and shot up the club injuring 8 people. The two brothers turned themselves in and now are behind bars with 4 million dollar bails.
Now that’s the initial story and understandably is sparked outrage and public condemnation for the group and the two accused shooters. The incident has left many of us wondering how in the hell could two people be that callous and that stupid. Many upon hearing this story wished the worse upon the pair.
Since Friday, we are now hearing more details which gives us a richer understanding of what may have went down. First, we’ve come to learn that Spiro’s nightclub itself is no angelic place. The club has racked up a number of insidious complaints over the years. So many so that the city is considering shutting them down. Not that that excuses the shooting, but there’s more.
In the initial story we were told the group showed up late to perform and then got angry. This led to many of us stating that the group should’ve been more responsible and shown up on time. We are now hearing that the group was there on time. In fact they were there most of the night.
We are also hearing that the two brothers accused of shooting the club had gotten a serious beatdown after arguing with the promoter We are hearing reports that as many as 10 people may have whupped on them.The brothers were tossed out the club, they went to their cars and returned a while later and shot up the club injuring a few of the folks including a girl friend of one of the bouncers.
We were also told of a troublesome practice that takes place at many of the nightclubs in the 6th street area. Its not uncommon for bands to pay to play. One source said he was told the group paid promoters to perform that night and were then later denied and the money kept. This hasn’t been fully confirmed but as noted its a common practice.
We’ll let you know more info as it comes to us, but the bottomline it wasn’t as black and white as initially pointed out.. The shooting was proceeded by a serious beatdown -Not that excuses a shooting up of a nightclub but as they say that’s part of the otherside of the story…
okay if true, but they still fired into a crowd of innocent people. i can understand if their pride was hurt but they should have thought about the consequences of their actions. two wrongs still didnt make a right last time i checked.
davey, do let us know if any of these reports can be confirmed by actual witnesses, otherwise this is just rumory and hearsay.

Crazy Shooting in Austin

Last night at Spiro’s downtown, a rap group (LG Allstarz) who was scheduled to play but missed their gig and arrived after closing time, got pissed that they wouldn’t let them into the (closed) club … so they went out to their car, got guns, and shot a bunch of people. So far no one has died from their wounds, but one woman is in critical condition.
Shootings in Austin aren’t entirely commonplace, and even when there is a shooting of some sort, it’s usually between people who know each other or the cops shooting someone, so something like this is big news. It’s really just out-of-the-blue random violence on random people standing around. That doesn’t happen around here. At least it didn’t use to happen around here. In fact, I think this may be the biggest shooting event I remember happening in Austin since that crazy person got up in the UT Tower and started shooting people (way back when I was just a baby). Yup, eight people being shot at one time is big news … crazy news.
The last I’ve heard they don’t have the guys in custody yet, and (joy of joys) they appear to live somewhere in my zip code. It’s not a very large zip code area. I’m actually feeling a little stress about this, because I did need to leave the house and go to a store today, but there may be people out there somewhere who are armed and have already proved themselves to be insane enough to shoot random people for no reason at all.
Can’t let crazy people with guns keep me from running to the store. They’d have to be really nuts to still be in the neighborhood and even more nuts to shoot up anymore people or places … right?

Yeah, I have heard some conflicting stories on what exactly happened on several of the local news shows.
All I know for sure is there are cops everywhere in my neighborhood right now. Whether it’s related or not, don’t know, but seems there’s a lot of crazy going on today.

they said they showed up at 2am i know thats bull cuz i got so video of them in the club on stage with the same promoter that they got into it with yeah ramon stewart a.k.a sicc i know all of them and it seems a little weird that there was reports of two shots then seconds later a whole lotta shots so i think somebody shot at them

I WAS THERE TOO…L.G ALL STARZ WERE THERE ALL NIGHT. BIG HUTCH WAS EVEN FEATURED ON ANOTHER PERFORMERS SET AND THEY WERE ON STAGE. TOLD ME HIMSELF THAT THEY HAD COME TO AUSTIN FROM LA GRANGE EVEN THOUGH HE WAS VILOATING HIS PROBATION BY BEING THERE.BUT THAT LI SICC HAD MADE THE CALL AND THEY WERE HERE TO PERFORM AND PROMOTE.ANOTHER THING IS THE TIME FRAME…FOR WHATEVER REASON, THEY WERE THERE ALL NIGHT SHOWING LOVE. THEY WERE REALLY SCHEDULED TO PERFORM EARLIER BUT WERE PUSHED BACK TO ALLOW ANOTHER ACT TO SHOWCASE WITH THE PROMISE OF PERFORMING LATER THAT EVENING. IN MY OPINION THEY WERE JUST BLACKBALLED BY LIL SICC FOR PERSONAL REASONS. REASON BEING IS WHAT PROMOTER IN HIS RIGHT MIND WOULD HAVE AN OUT OF CITY GROUP TRAVEL TO YOUR OWN CITY THEN NOT EVEN LET THEM PERFORM ONE SONG?…YEAH..THATS JUST BAD BUISNESS..AS THE FIGHT ON STAGE BROKE OUT I FOLLOWED THE WAVE TO THE DOOR. THEN THE SHOTS STARTED..I SAW THE PEOPLE ON THE FLOOR AS I RAN BEHIND THE SHOOTERS AND NOT AWAY..I WAS TRYING TO GET THE CAMERA GOING AGAIN..I HELPED A BLACK MALE IN YHE ALLEY TO THE SOUTH OF SPIROS AS HE WAS SCREAMING” I BEEN SHOT, I BEEN SHOT”..OVER AND OVER AGAIN..I THEN RAN INTO TWO GIRLS LESS THAN 6 FEET AWAY AND ONE HAD BEEN SHOT IN THE LEG AND WAS GOING INTO SHOCK…I KEPT TELIN HER TO LAY AND ELEVATE HER LEG…SHE FINALLY LISTENED BEFORE I MADE MY WAY AWAY FROM THE SCENE…ANYWAY..LIKE I SAID…CONFLICTING DETAILS…SAME END RESULT..I THINK JOSH CISNEROS (THE OWNER OF SPIROS) IS TRYING TO KEEP IT OPEN..172 POLICE CALLS TO SPIROS LAST YEAR …ANYWAY…THATS THAT IN A NUTSHELL…OR WHAT I KNOW

well, i guess it just goes to show you, you can’t believe everything you read. “D'”s account makes more sense as it explains possible motive for the shooting: the LG Allstarz got jumped onstage, after being told they could perform and waiting around all night. it’s still too bad they fired into the crowd, though…
Well said, E. I don’t care who told them what. That’s no excuse to shoot up a club.
