This is classic Breakdown FM interview we did with E-40 a few years ago…He gives a great run down of the Bay Area Hip Hop scene, We also talked to him about his new businesses which include a burger franchise and new nightclub in San Jose..
E-40 also gives some great history on the Bay and the origins of what he calls mob music. He also talks about the challenges of garnering national recognition and the perception of the west coast. he also talks about the art of emceeing, freestyling and recent collaborations.

Yem Yo ( greetings in my language), I really appreciate this interview, Davey D asked important questions such as marriage, business etc. This gives me a whole new lens into which I could look at E-40. I am proud of his accomplish and also his willingness to remain humble despite all of his material possession. We need more people like him……
Respect,
Yoknyam

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you
relied on the video to make your point. You clearly know what youre talking about, why
throw away your intelligence on just posting videos to your blog when you could be giving us something informative to read?
yes I could write more.. but this is our radio show that is a podcast not an essay or article.. I’m highlighting what we do on air..
What a great Christmas present from Mr. Davey D! Thanks for sharing this great interview featuring the ambassador of the Bay- E-40. I always wondered what the Davey D take on Hyphy music was. Even though it hit its peak back in 2006, it was still an interesting cultural phenomenon for the Bay Area hip hop scene. E-40 has managed to outlast any and all fads, however, and continues to deliver dynamic slanguage over synth-laced beats that reflect youth trends in the streets.
