The Black Is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations

Rally/March November 7, 2009 Washington, D.C. / Malcolm X Park 10a-6pm

BlackisBlackWashington, D.C. – A newly-formed Black coalition has announced a Rally and March on the White House to take place November 7, 2009 beginning in Washington, D.C.’s historic Malcolm X Park. The Rally and March are to protest the expanding U.S. wars and other policy initiatives that unfairly African and other oppressed people around the world. Known as the Black is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations, the coalition formed on September 12, 2009 during a meeting in Washington, D.C. of more than fifteen activists from various Black organizations, institutions and communities.

The Black is Back Coalition aims to draw upon the support of many of the leading anti-imperialist organizations, journalists, organizers, artists and scholars of the African world. In this age of Obama, Rally and March on November 7, 2009 aims to bring back the tradition of resistance historically associated to with Black communities around the world. Comprised of seasoned veterans of Black political struggle, consisting of members of the African People’s Socialist Party, the NAACP, MOVE, the Green Party, Black Agenda Report and many other grassroots organizations and efforts, this coalition is perfectly situated to do just that.

As the Call to Action states, “Many well-meaning people in this country and around the world are afraid to take more progressive political positions for fear of being seen as anti-Black…We need to remind people of the absolute lack of ‘progress’ since new faces assumed leadership of this nation. Many of the leading concerns of Black people, Latinos and working people in this country remain insufficiently addressed. Black and Brown people continue to suffer the brunt of un/under-employment and predatory loan scandal crises. Military spending under Obama has increased as have the warfare this nation continues to export to Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Venezuela and Colombia. Mass incarceration, police brutality and political imprisonment remain rampant and the most negatively impacted by the levee breech in post-Katrina New Orleans continue to be without homes, jobs or health care assistance. And to that point, these are precisely the communities who nationally will be the most negatively effected by yet another myth of health care ‘reform.'”

The political paralysis now being experienced by anti-war and other progressive movements suffer from thelack of a Black-led anti-imperial movement to off-set the traps set by Obama’s so-called “post-racial” politics that perpetuates the same oppressive militarist agenda well known during the Bush regime. Black Is Back is not simply a slogan for the African Diaspora but for all progressive struggles which have historically always benefited fromBlack-led movements. On November 7, 2009 beginning promptly at 10am, all are welcome to participate in Rally and March which will include many speakers and performers of the coalition to stand and demonstrate in political solidarity announcing the return to leadership of the world’s most reliably anti-war and pro-social justice communities. As the coalition says, “To free our people’s hopes and dreams from oblivion, we need a coalition dedicated to the proposition that Black is Back!”

  2. Look, I think it’s a very good intention to have rallies and protests, but I think those methods are outdated when trying to attack the system. I got some effective solutions on bringing down this capitalistic greedy system just by reading “The Art Of War” by SunTzu.

    Here it is:
Organize a Bank Run. Meaning, have masses of people in business and/or casual attire withdrawing all or majority of their money from a bank of your choosing. You got to hit the system where it it hurts which is in their pockets! Just make sure that everyone in line isn’t chanting or carrying any signs so they don’t draw the attention of the police because you’re not doing anything illegal. You’re just doing a business transaction. You want proof of it working? Go online and search for Indymac Bank Run.

Next, organize and network with your neighbors in your neighborhood and have all of the folks within your community to put up “For Sale” signs on their lawns with the price much less than the house’s value. Don’t really sell your house, just advertise it. Doing this will force the system to bring down the cost of living.

These are just some ideas in fighting the system without drawing too much negative attention to us.

  3. Robert Jr. James McClendon says

Abtruse, “Some ideas just need to stay ideas” – A Temptation member. Question – When you call yourself fighting against “the bank” who are you fighting against? On the house bit, that’s funny. No methods are outdated “if” they’ve ever worked. Stop the “New Jack” stuff and stick to what “worked”. Black ain’t never went no where, its just that the new negroes or African Americans were given their chance to sell-out. This Obama stuff ain’t “our” doing, trust me. Google the word “financing” and look at the famous names. Problem is these “new negroes” worship money and who has all the money? There are so many lessons to learn from hip-hop – just open your eyes, Black people. Its a narcotic to keep you away from bettering yourself and your race. Google its “financers”. I’ll bet you the same people who finance this stuff have a direct connection with the war in the middle east. Who do you think Obama is speaking for when he says “Iran better come clean”? Acknowledge” this” and we can move forward. Black people can’t be afraid to criticize Obama because his “backers” disapprove.

  4. Robert thanks for your reply. The reason why I said protesting is, in other words, counterproductive, is because it draws a lot of negativity and harm towards us. I don’t want to be on the frontlines breathing in tear gas or bein’ physically harrassed by the cops or be thrown in jail. Even though we have a right to voice our opinion and protest, look at our outcome. We live in a new day and time which means we need to come up with fresh, new ideas. Look, I know everyone on this site wants our people to be emancipated from all this tyrrany that’s brought upon us.

What I want and I think what everyone wants is solutions. What solutions are you bringing to the table? I’m not asking you to agree with me Robert, but can you give us some solutions to end the corruption that’s plaguing us?

Here are some of my solutions:

What is the solution to unemployment? First of all, we need to reduce or eliminate of the amount of rent or mortgage we pay. If Americans were not paying any rent or mortgages, we could live on just a few dollars a day, and only worry primarily about food. The government has to find jobs for about 20 MILLION UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE! Many of the jobs that were lost may never come back and are gone forever. There are simply too many people competing for the same dwindling, scarce jobs. There is simply too much competition from overseas laborers who are willing to work for much cheaper; such as in China where they surely are not paying $600-$900 in rent a month to live. They can live on as cheaply as a dollar a day! We could too if we didn’t have to pay comparable rents or mortgages.

The solution to getting cheap or free space to live is to stop foreclosures. If it were possible to pressure the banks to stop a foreclosure, people could stay in their houses virtually rent and mortgage-free, since the whole idea behind property is the banks’ ability to throw people out of their houses using police force through foreclosure and eviction.

If people were to form network groups of family and friends of about 200 to 500 people, they could be a force to be reckoned with. They could support each other if the banks try to foreclose on one of their members. Supporting members could do runs on the bank to frighten the banks to back off. If it’s one thing the banks hate, it’s bad publicity in the form of lines of people taking out their money. The banks would surely listen to this form of intimidation. Lines of 500 people or more would send shockwaves to their system. Any bad publicity would undermine their business. They have too many other foreclosures to worry about anyway. Group members receiving help would be obligated to help other members when they get foreclosed on. Once word gets out, members from the group could meet banks ahead of protests and negotiate to leave people in their homes in exchange for not running on the bank (Do not bring signs or bullhorns at bank protests, it must look like a regular bank run). You can bad mouth them when the reporters come to cover the run. But other than that, you are there to do a legal transaction. For those who have no accounts, they could open very small accounts as a form of protest to tie up the system. If you are arrested or harassed, you could sue the banks and the police, causing more problems for them.

Once the banks cannot foreclose or evict because of strong network support, there is no sense in paying them mortgage payments anymore, and then people could live very cheaply and in comfort supporting each other.

The homeowners who decide not to join these groups will be on their own and at the mercy of the job market and authorities. And if they get evicted, others can move into their homes under the protection and support of their neighborhood group. People can choose to go by law and be evicted to their own detriment.

We can get together today and form these groups. Make a list of family and friends, and get them to sign up in your community. Organize and start bank run meets. We need security, not bills, and slavery! Or are we waiting for the bank to throw us out on the street?

  5. Abstruth your idea of not having to continuing paying for homes sure sounds good. If I had a nickel for every dollar I’ve spent on mortgages and rents I’d buy a new car cash or better yet grab some good stock. However what you are talking about is free housing. The banks that gave the initial loan and who actually own the house would collapse. It would be chaos people would be free to take and hold properties by force. You are talking something in the midst of a civil war or revolution. Shit I’d find an empty mansion break the guns and debate the curtain colors. We not on that type of time.

Your notions of groups of 500 to 600 people forming common interest pacts is interesting.

I might make it up to D.C on the 7th. Make it part of my Flavorblade Across America series. Day 1. I want to check out Ms. Clemente’s people.

  6. I would like to add a unique idea about reparations that will be supported by all Americans. Current prposals call for a one time payment of around $50,000 or $700 a year over a person’s lifetime. My unique idea would pay $3,000 – $6,000 per year over a person’s lifetime or at least $210,000. Check out my idea at http://www.blackeconomicreparations.blogspot.com
Look forward to hearing what you think.

  7. What a magnificent post! I did a of blogging for dummies over on one of the CPA Marketing forums and I considered it was too easy for them, but the amount of emails I got asking questions just like what you addressed was unbelievable. As young people nowadays we have grown up with computers, but it’s easy to forget that even people just a few years older have not! Really good post! 🙂

  8. Black Americans there is still a fight and I am knee deep in it for 4 years. www. djusticeofone.wordpress.com and whitey is using immigrants of other countries against Americans mainly black, since the colored people from other countries in the green card program seem to be trained monkeys, and yeah I am black and from America, North Carolina as a matter of fact.

    PETITION FOR INVESTIGATION

Allegations of Felonies to be investigated on the DOJ including US. Military, FBI and the IRS as well as several Federal Judges.

This petition is for a full and thorough investigation amongst allegations of Felonies, including Abuse of Power, Court and Federal program corrupted proceedings, Stalking and Harassment, Child endangerment, Felony rerouting and hacking of Computer and Phone services, Illegal activities in hiring practices by intentionally dictating my work status.

    1) I have been kept from working in order for these agencies to stalk me and keep me from getting money to support my family, in order to steal or take things from my family. And when I was at work they posed as my customers then got me out of work to keep me out of work for 2 years.

    2) I have been defamed and had these agencies contact all bases, Military to stalk me and live around my family dwellings anyplace we move. And they chase
me up and down the streets day or night. And they use illegal equipment to look into my family’s house. A 24/7 stalking.

    3) Payments to keep me hostage by the DOJ were made totaling about 5 million dollars and spending about 6 billion over 3-4 years, proof of these payments
    on demand.

    4) I have numerous Police reports and the Police told me it was these agencies and they could do nothing, because they don’t have the power, Police and Detectives names given on demand.

    5) All official offices and calls were made to Military faking as they intercept my phone calls I called the number from a payphone and always got someone different. And my father as well as others get others answering my cell phone not me.

    6) Every Court case has been faked in order to kept from giving me Justice, and in order to continue violating my Civil rights by these Government agencies, including fraudulent deliveries, which were overlooked when mentioned to the Judge, as well as denying an Attorney after status was granted, which would afford me one.

    7) Payments were made to my family and friends to get them to set me up, since I told about some Federal Judges committing felonies from Chicago Federal Courts.

In conclusion this is a prelim for investigation consideration with any and all documents and witnesses on demand. It appears that these felonies will continue if I depend on the Courts because they are controlling the procedures, which include fraudulent deliveries, and phony proceedings.

    Sincerely,

    Darryl Kinney
