One has to wonder what this was really about? MTV stooping real low? Eminem getting his just deserts after years of dissing people? Payback from Nick Cannon.. Wasn’t a cool moment for Em.. Not in the least

Headlines: Sascha Baron Cohen knows from publicity stunts. Eminem, who loves to dish it out, may not know how to take it. (Or maybe he was in on the joke all along?) Anyway, showing up to present an award the MTV Music Awards as Brüno, his flamboyantly gay Austrian alter ego, Cohen, according to the MTV account, “descended via wires from the rafters dressed as some sort of S&M angel — if an angel would be wearing oversized wings, a white gladiator’s costume and a jockstrap — and introduced himself in German, ‘Ich bin Brüno.’ He then appeared to get caught up in his suspension wires, flipping upside down and writhing in apparent pain before asking to be lowered to the floor. His request was quickly granted and he crashed to the ground — upside-down and directly on top of Eminem, wrapping his legs around the rapper’s head, exposing his bare buttocks within inches of Em’s face.” The rapper, who’d previously performed a couple of “Relapse” songs, wasn’t pleased with being served a teabag, saying: “Are you serious?” He swore and told his bodyguards get Cohen Brüno off of him. Eventually, Eminem left his seat, prompting Cohen Brüno to ask: “Is the real Slim Shady about to stand up?”

  2. That’s MTV for you. Can anyone really be surprised that a network that’s stooped so low in the past decade allowed something like this to happen? MTV (MUSIC television), allowing possibly one of the 5 most talented music artists in that entire arena be humiliated by a comedic actor. If Eminem made any mistake last night, it was even showing up to a venue ran by a network that has had nothing to do with progressing music in at least a decade. There’s a reason why Dead Prez wouldn’t go near the MTV awards, except to hold a protest concert in the parking lot. Now Eminem knows why. Hip hop needs to permanently break off it’s relationship with MTV (again, what has this network done to progress hip hop, or even promote hip hop, in the past decade, other than play a short Lil Wayne clip at the end of one of their reality shows?) If I was Eminem I’d get right in the studio, put out a special edition EP just putting the producers of this awards show on super fucking blast, anything he can legally get away with. Now THAT’S hip hop.

Totally agree with you and I hear people say Em was in on it, I am like no the F$% he wasn’t and I would’ve kicked someone’s a#$. You see they know who the pull that bull#$% on and EM was the one they could pull it on. He better not ever diss another person as this moment will never be forgotten.

  4. That’s true, Cameron. Anybody battling with Eminem now is going right to Eminem’s ass to mouth moment with Bruno. But as a fan of hip hop, I have more respect for Eminem than just about anyone in that arena. So should a network that calls itself “Music” television. Coehn did it because of Eminem’s gay slurs in his past songs (which are songs, btw, entertainment. He’s never gone on record bashing gays from a political standpoint). MTV has no respect for anything having to do with creative music anymore, and that’s what last night’s spectacle really represented, to me. They were always entertainment based, but always tended to treat the more talented music artists with a little more respect. Not in the past 10 years. Today it’s Eminem getting clowned, next year it will be some asshole comedian doing some routine mocking Lil Wayne or somebody, and out comes a racial slur. Watch.

  5. What I find funny about this is that Eminem thinks he can just comeback onto the scene and put out the same shit he’s been spitting for a decade and that hip hop is supposed to take that and run.

Why don’t we talk about the reality that these two white boys, Em and Asher Roth think they are bout to run Hip Hop.

  6. At least Eminem isn’t dissing hip hop the way Asher is. Asher’s a joke. BTW, the MTV stunt was staged. It’s been all over the news sites. Slim rocks on. Fuck the haters.

  7. The fact that the shit was staged makes Eminem even more of a wanksta.

  10. Great – now that is perspective! I suppose we frequently react in agreement or disagreement because of our feelings, but seeing another side, stormily presented, really makes me think! I do not mind reading what you enounced here as it has really caught the esteem of the issue in a worthwhile good sense. With that, source maker, I toast to you.
